Egypt Signs Agreement with Medlog to Develop Key Dry Port and Logistics Hub

The 250-acre dry port and logistics zone will enhance supply chain efficiency.
Egypt’s Port Authority has signed a significant agreement with Swiss company Medlog for the financing, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the 10th of Ramadan City Dry Port and Logistics Zone.
According to Daily News Egypt, the project will span two zones: 130 acres dedicated to the dry port and 120 acres allocated for the logistics area. This initiative aims to alleviate congestion at seaports, enhance trade flows, and reduce transportation costs while boosting overall supply chain efficiency.
The development connects Egypt’s industrial, agricultural, and mining sectors with key seaports along the Red Sea and the Mediterranean. This will be achieved through enhanced road and rail networks, integrating inland logistics with maritime trade routes.
As part of Egypt’s ambitious plan to establish itself as a regional transport and logistics hub, the project aligns with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s vision to strengthen Egypt’s role in global transit trade. Medlog won the global tender issued by the Port Authority, surpassing four international consortiums in the competitive bidding process.
The contract was signed by Sayed Metwally, Head of the Authority for Land and Dry Ports, and Domenico Zanon, Executive Director of Medlog, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel Al-Wazir.
