FIAT’s TRIS Ignites a New Era of Sustainable Urban Delivery

Born in Italy, built in Morocco, TRIS is more than a vehicle; it’s a beacon of innovation, inclusivity, and opportunity for the future of urban mobility.

Africa has long grappled with poor transportation networks, logistical hurdles, and fragmented supply chains. From North Africa to sub-Saharan regions, the full potential of technology remains largely untapped. But that may be about to change. Meet TRIS, the ground-breaking three-wheeled electric vehicle unveiled by FIAT Professional. Purpose-built for business-to-business (B2B) last-mile delivery, TRIS marks FIAT’s first-ever venture into three-wheeled electric mobility, designed specifically to address the unique challenges of the continent.

In the face of rising congestion and strained transport infrastructure across Africa and the Middle East, TRIS arrives as a game-changing solution for urban mobility. Compact at just 3.17 meters in length and with an impressively tight 3.05-meter turning radius, this three-wheeled electric vehicle is built to glide through crowded city streets and tight alleyways with ease. Its smart design doesn’t compromise on utility, offering a substantial payload capacity of up to 540 kg, enough to handle a euro pallet or everyday small business deliveries.

TRIS runs on a fully electric 6.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, the same proven power source found in the Fiat Topolino — offering a practical range of up to 90 km and a top speed of 45 km/h. Designed for simplicity, it plugs directly into any standard 220V outlet and reaches 80% charge in just 3.5 hours. No complex installations, no charging stations — just plug in, power up, and hit the road.

Produced in Morocco and crafted at Italy’s Centro Stile, TRIS combines sleek design with rugged durability. Its zinc-coated, corrosion-resistant chassis is built to withstand the toughest work environments. Inside, the cabin is thoughtfully designed for driver comfort, featuring easy entry, ample storage, and modern touches such as a 5.7-inch digital display, USB-C and 12V charging ports, and Fiat’s distinctive LED lighting system.

Samir Cherfan, COO of Stellantis Middle East and Africa, describes TRIS as a “powerful driver of inclusion and local economic growth,” emphasizing how it helps bridge the divide between formal and informal transport systems across the region.

TRIS represents more than an electric vehicle, it’s FIAT Professional’s vision for mobility tailored to the realities of emerging markets. Merging classic Italian craftsmanship with the strength and adaptability needed across Africa and the Middle East, TRIS is set to reshape last-mile delivery. With its launch in MEA and plans for Europe, this compact and efficient vehicle signals a new era, one where mobility empowers growth and opportunity. Finally, a Fiat designed with Africa in mind.
