University of Kigali and LEARN Logistics Partner to Transform Rwanda’s Supply Chain Sector

In January 2025, LEARN Logistics by Kühne Foundation, a globally recognized advocate for sustainable logistics and supply chain education, announced a strategic partnership with the University of Kigali. This collaboration was formalized through a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aimed at advancing logistics and supply chain management in Rwanda.
The partnership seeks to establish a new benchmark for international collaboration in higher education, fostering innovation, capacity building, and knowledge exchange in the field. Through this initiative, both organizations will work together to enhance academic curricula, research capabilities, and practical training opportunities for students and professionals in Rwanda’s logistics and supply chain sector.
By leveraging the Kühne Foundation’s global expertise and the University of Kigali’s local academic strength, the initiative aims to address key challenges in supply chain efficiency, sustainability, and workforce development. The MoU will facilitate faculty exchanges, joint research projects, industry collaborations, and specialized training programs, equipping students with the skills needed to meet the evolving demands of the logistics industry.
This partnership underscores the commitment of both institutions to driving economic growth, regional trade integration, and sustainable logistics practices in Rwanda and beyond.
Speaking at the event, UoK’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Prof Margaret Oloko emphasized the significance of this partnership, “Collaborating with LEARN Logistics by Kühne Foundation enables us to elevate the quality and impact of logistics and supply chain management in Rwanda. Together, we are setting the stage for transformative change that aligns with Rwanda’s broader economic development goals.”
LEARN Logistics by Kühne Foundation operates in six African countries, including Rwanda, with a mission to establish sustainable, high-quality logistics and supply chain management (LSCM) education in low- and middle-income regions.
